October 7, 2023 Hamas Attack Timeline
Timeline of the October 7th, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel:
~6am Israel time the attack begins with a massive barrage of rockets launched from Gaza into southern and central Israel.
Shortly thereafter several breaches are made in the Gaza-Israel border and thousands of militants (Primarily Hamas fighters) pour into Israel by land, sea, and air (Using motorized gliders).
~7am Hamas attackers arrive at the Supernova music festival (Located about 3 miles from the border) on motorcycles and in pickup trucks. They open fire on fleeing civilians, killing hundreds.
Between 7am and 10am militants move into Israeli towns and military bases near the border killing civilians and soldiers and taking hostages. Israel mobilizes emergency forces and begins retaliatory airstrikes.
Around 11am Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declares that Israel is at war.
~8pm fighting continues in multiple Israeli communities as IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) reinforcements continue to arrive.
Isolated clashes between Hamas and the IDF continue throughout the night of the 7th into the morning of the 8th.
By the night of the 8th Israel officially reports it has expelled all Hamas fighters from its territory and resecured the border.
